About Our Organization

Empowering Women
Through Support & Education

Founded in 2013, Rebejo is a Rwandan civil society organization dedicated to empowering teenage mothers and low-income women through comprehensive support programs, digital literacy, and economic opportunities.

Our Story

Rebejo Organization was born from a vision to address the critical challenges faced by teenage mothers and low-income women in Rwanda. In 2013, a group of 12 dedicated founding members came together with a shared commitment to create meaningful change in their communities.

The foundation of Rebejo is built on reinforcing the well-being of young employees alongside vulnerable individuals, particularly single mothers who are often victims of sexual violence, and their children who suffer from neglect.

After years of grassroots work, Rebejo was officially recognized by the Rwanda Governance Board (RGB) in February 2017, receiving certificate no. 113/RGB/NGO/2017. This formal recognition strengthened our ability to expand our programs and reach more communities in need.

Today, Rebejo operates across four districts of Rwanda: Gasabo, Kicukiro, Rwamagana, and Kamonyi, serving over 1,300 beneficiaries through our various initiatives. Our journey continues as we work toward a future where all Rwandan women have equal access to opportunities and support.
