Sarah Johnson Volunteering

From Volunteer to Advocate

Sarah Johnson, Digital Skills Volunteer

"When I first came to Rwanda to volunteer for 3 months teaching digital skills, I had no idea how much the experience would change me. The women I worked with showed incredible resilience and determination to learn despite many challenges. What started as a short-term volunteer position has turned into a long-term commitment—I now return annually and have started a scholarship fund for women pursuing IT careers."

Taught digital literacy to 45 women
Started a scholarship fund for IT education
Returns annually as a lead volunteer
